Information and Pricing

The typical wedding day will start with our arrival wherever the bride is getting ready. Whether it is at home, the church, or other location. We usually arrive at least an hour before the ceremony so we can capture those fun candid images of everyone making their final preparations and guests arriving. This is a good time to photograph the bride with her parents and the groom with his. This will probably be the last photo taken of Mom, Dad, and their little boy or girl before they leave the nest.. Most of this is done in a photojournalistic style with some posed and artistic images as well.

Most churches won't let us use flash photography and we have to stay in one spot throughout the ceremony itself. If we are allowed to move around, we remain unobtrusive as we move but even if allowed we do not use flash. We want to capture the true ambience of your wedding so we use slow shutter speeds and a tripod in order to preserve the mood. Several images are captured during the ceremony especially the exchanging of rings, lighting the Unity candle, the Blessing and of course, the Kiss...

After the ceremony is when all of the formal portraiture is done. Occasionally a bride will have us do all of this before the ceremony so they can kiss, walk up the aisle and leave right for the reception but the vast majority of the time, it's done after the ceremony. During the formal portraits, we will use professional studio lighting that we set up while the guests are leaving the church. This is why our formal portraits look like they're done in a studio rather than looking like snap shots with flat, on camera flash. We dare to compare here. At this time, we photograph the families, bridal party and bride and groom by themselves. These are usually the most important images created all day. These are the images that are expected and required. A lot of the time, the favorites are images caught at the spur of the moment, when something fun or emotional has happened. Or they could be an artistic image Steve has set up especially for the bride and groom, something dreamy and loving. Whatever the case, if limited to immediate family, the formal portraits are usually completed in 30-45 minutes max. IF there is extended family that want portraits taken, we recommend doing that at the reception. We want to get the bride and groom back off to their reception as soon as possible.

A stop along the way... Many brides will have us stop at some location between the church and the reception and we are very happy to do so. This is when some of our most beautiful images are captured. It may be a park or the beach, we've even stopped at horse barns and a cemetery, when requested. Wherever the location may be, we will create images that capture your feelings and personality.

Party time...The reception is almost all photojournalistic work. Granted, there are a few posed images but the bulk of the images are spontaneous and capture the fun and emotion the day provides. The grand introductions, first dance, father/ daughter - mother/son dances, cutting the cake and the garter/bouquet tossing are definite highlights but a lot of images are created as we roam the room watching closely for just the right moment of excitement or happy tears. We also make sure we get shots of all the couples that come to share your day with you and we'll take special requests as well. Every guest is important and we try hard to make sure that everyone ends up on film (figuratively). We want to make sure you have a lifetime record of all who attend. If no grand exit is planned, then we will set up a great closing shot to end your day with.

Beach Weddings are handled pretty much the same way. Just the locations change is all.

We Post All Weddings to the internet. Weddings in Florida invariably have a lot of out-of-town guests and family members attending. For this reason, we post, free of charge, all of your wedding images to the internet. Here, friends and family members can view and purchase images right from their computer. Your images will be posted within 3 business days of your wedding so you can even check them out while still on your honeymoon. During the reception, we hand out cards with the web address and your password so you won't have to answer a bunch of calls or emails on how to find your photo gallery. This is just another way we try to make things fun and easy for you. All orders placed online are processed within 48 hours of their receipt and drop-shipped in 7-10 business days by USPS.

Proof books are usually ready within 2 weeks of your wedding day. If your package includes a proof book, an album with 4x6 prints of all your images, then you can expect to receive this within two weeks.

Bridal albums are ready within 8 to10 weeks from the time you give us the list of images you want us to use in them. Once we have the album designed, we will post this to the internet for you to check out and approve. We even let you request changes if you like but we ask that you give us all changes at one time so we can do them all at once and get the images re-posted for your final approval. Once you approve, it's off to the lab for printing. We then pick up the prints so we can  do our quality control inspection, then they are shipped to  Art Leather for mounting and binding.

At any time during this process, be sure to contact us with any questions or concerns. We are here to provide great service as well as great photography, this isn't just hot air. We're here for you!
